The Lodge @ Meadowcroft
The Lodge at Meadowcroft is our Primary site where we cater for children from Year 1 to Year 7. The site is split over 3 buildings, with each classroom designed the same to allow for consistency throughout the school years.
The classrooms are low stimulus and use a continuous provision model. We follow the National Curriculum. Years 1-7 follow a primary model before moving to the gallery. The Lodge has access to a therapy room, outdoor classroom and library.
There is a large outdoor area for children to access a variety of activities, including music and movement, along with a trim trail. With access to a life skills room, the children will be taught to cook meals they can easily do at home too. The children are offered swimming lessons as part of their curriculum offer and partake in education school trips.
At The Lodge school begins at 8:30am and closes to all pupils 2:30pm
Personal Development Curriculum
Personal Development is woven in to all aspects of school life at Meadowcroft and we pride ourselves on providing an environment for all pupils to thrive and mature into well-informed young adults. Our PSHE curriculum underpins this aim in the context of three core themes: relationships, physical health & mental wellbeing and living in the wider world (including economic wellbeing and careers education).
Our Personal Development Curriculum offer gives the children the knowledge and understanding they need make informed choices and to be a positive influence in the communities that they belong to. Our aim is to develop skills and attributes such as resilience, self-esteem, risk-management, team-working and critical thinking.
We want our learners to feel empowered with the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage life’s challenges and make the most of life’s opportunities. We aim to give our learners the knowledge and tools they need to understand how to take care of themselves, physically and mentally, and how they can stay safe and thrive in an ever changing world.
