Location: Meadowcroft – The Hub, Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday 6.00am to 2.00pm
Salary: £18,286 per annum (£10.25 p/h)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
Are you a School Cook/Chef committed to improving the lives of children and young people? We are looking for a School Cook/Chef to join our fantastic team at Meadowcroft – The Hub, Wakefield.
Job Description
The main purpose of this role is to prepare, cook and serve in excess of 100 main meals and desserts in our busy school kitchens and dining rooms. It is essential that the meals are presented to the highest standards and delivered on time at the correct temperature to the appropriate school sites. The post holder will assist the Catering Manager with all relevant paperwork, ordering, menu planning and will also deputise in the event of their absence. Help to ensure that our customers are satisfied with our service, being friendly and helpful at all times. This is a physically demanding job which involves heavy lifting and long periods of standing in a hot, fast paced environment. You will need to be able to work from your own initiative supporting colleagues where appropriate.
Experience
- Two years’ experience in a similar environment
- NVQ level 2 professional food cookery
- Level 2 food safety certificate (minimum)
- Full driving license
